A little story about the Lotus and the Scarab
The Egyptians were some of the original and best production and operations people. Admittedly I would not follow all of their methodologies from back in the day, but they did produce some pretty epic stuff. Some things that I am sure a lot of people said could not be done at the time...and some things that still to this day people do not believe they created.
The Lotus starts every day anew; representing the sun and creation. Lotus flowers, open in the morning and close again at night symbolising rebirth and regeneration. As a producer we are tasked with creating something out of nothing each day. A Lotus grows out of stagnant water, where it is not expected that something so beautiful can grow. I believe that you can always make something awesome no matter where your roots lie. There is always a way to make something happen. It just may be a different way than originally expected.
A Scarab has his heart in Production also. In Egypt, Khepri or Ra was a god of creation, the movement of the sun, and rebirth. The belief was that Ra rolled the sun over the sky every day to the horizon and the other world, to then renew it each morning. It is the belief that the scarabs are Ra...and if you have ever worked in production sometimes it can seem you are rolling something up hill also. But the reward is always worth it. Once again the Scarabs are creating every day.
